    GIRLS just sent out this track, “Vomit”, off of Father, Son, Holy Ghost due out in the US on September 13, 2011. It’s definitely a lot darker/heavier/grungier than what most have come to expect from the band, but it definitely works for them.

  6. Yeah, that’s right…Ariel Pink did it again. Months after his last diva freak out at Coachella Music Festival, AP performed at Chicago’s Pitchfork Music Festival this past weekend, unstable as ever. He could barely get through his set between flipping off the audience, dropping his headset microphone and screaming lyrics or not singing them at all. A few songs in, he removed his headset, took his drink and stormed off stage, where he proceeded to cuss at someone back there, as well as flip them off. I luckily grabbed a few shots in sequential order before the big tantrum.

    Side Note: I’m a big fan of AP, so this was easily the biggest let down for me of the weekend. The crowd was extremely confused and I was pretty bummed to say the least. His PR person even had to cancel our interview due to him being “sick”…

  7. Kurt Vile :: “Baby’s Arms”
    Directed By: Todd Cole
    Matador Records

    For one of my favorite tracks on the entire album, I was pretty bummed with this video. Everything I had pictured about frolicking in a meadow, drinking orange juice on a sunny porch and tracing the outlines of curls with loose fingers are missing. The video’s imagery, in my opinion, has an evident disconnect with Smoke Ring For My Halo. I’m sure it would be perfect for something else, seeing that both the song and footage are wonderful on their own.
